Our Approach to Training

The atmosphere of the Bujinkan Dojo is relaxed, informal, and enjoyable. Training is held both indoors and outdoors in various locations and class structure will be varied. Attention is given to sufficient warmup, demonstration, partner work, and exploration. Students are encouraged to "feel" into each technique and act with awareness rather than memorize pre-planned sequences of movement or develop habitual responses.

For the student who approaches training with this intention in mind, this unique method of learning develops mindfulness, intuition, creativity, and insight while developing health and martial skill. Not at all limited to martial arts training alone, this practical wisdom extends into every day life, helping one to intuitively follow the worthiest course of action, act with courage and conviction, and know one's true heart. This is the life value of "good taijutsu."
